Every person begins their garden in the hope that it will be the best one on the block and produce the largest and fullest fruits and vegetables around town. This is often not the case and more than likely your plants are not performing even close to par. There are more than likely a couple of reasons that your plants are not doing as well as you would like.
Probably one of the largest issues that people have when gardening indoors is providing their plants with the proper amount and type of lighting. To achieve the best results an indoor gardener should use grow lights that are suited for their needs. For example if you are trying to build strong roots then you will need a grow light that emits a blue spectrum light, and on the other hand if you are nearing the flowering phase of your plants maturity you will need a grow light that mainly emits a reddish orange glow. Whichever types of grow light that you choose make sure that you are following the correct instructions.
The next thing that you are probably not doing to the best of your ability is pruning your plants. Pruning your plants does more for them than you can imagine. It is like taking the monkey of your back because it gives the plant a chance to send all of its precious nutrients to the parts of the plant that need it the most. To properly prune your plants snip the dead material including already bloomed flowers, leaves with spots in them and leaves that are starting to wilt or are browning up at the base so that there is no dead plant matter left.
Another thing that most people often mess up is that they give their plants way too much water or do not give the plant nearly enough water. To properly maintain a healthy ecosystem inside of the plant it needs consistent water flow not too much here and not enough there. To easily tell if your plant needs more water or not stick a tooth pick into the soil and see if it comes out wet, if it does the plant is ok, if it does not then the plant needs a thorough watering.
